Design
The Chevy Silverado Chassis Cabs has some new tweaks to its exterior features. The hood of the commercial vehicle has a decent hood that helps with a transparent view. Most pickup trucks have a higher hood, but you’ll have a better view of the road ahead with a lower hood. Another advantage of the Silverado Chassis Cab is that it has tuned shocks and cab mounts to improve the quality of the ride. It also has triple-sealed secured doors that help reduce external noise while protecting the front passengers with its included side-impact airbags. As attractive as the design, the maintenance is just as beneficial.
Maintenance
For heavy-duty jobs, a forward-tilting hood with up to a 50-degrees makes moving around and cutting corners easier. A diesel exhaust fluid fill is also located on the right fender behind the front wheel to ensure the fuel and exhaust fluid are away from each other. This is an essential feature because if the two mix, it could cause severe damage to the entire engine.
With the Silverado Chassis Cabs, up to 10 auxiliary switches are available, with easy access to the additional power from any side of the transmission. The robust frame can handle any job—the entire frame ties strongly to the performance.
Performance
The Silverado Chassis Cab has a 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 engine with an Allison transmission that pushes the limit to 350 horsepower and 750 pound-feet of torque. Included in the Silverado Chassis Cab is a standard exhaust brake. The Standard exhaust brake is typically used to assist in slowing a diesel engine by closing off the exhaust track from the engine, which makes the exhaust gases constrict in the exhaust multiples and cylinder. The Silverado Chassis Cab can tow a maximum of 18,500 pounds and be assisted with its Electronic Stability Control system. The Electronic Stability Control system includes traction control, electronic trailer sway control, and hill start assist.
